What are the causes of depression?
Nowadays, the number of patients with depression in life is increasing, and it can also jeopardize the life of the patient, causing certain impact on the patient's life. Since the damage caused by depression is so great, then we should have more knowledge about depression, first of all, understand a few points about the causes of depression.
(1) genetic factors: a large sample of the population genetic epidemiological survey shows that the closer the blood relationship with the patient, the higher the probability of illness. The probability of first-degree relatives suffering from the disease is much higher than that of other relatives, which is consistent with the general law of genetic diseases.
(2) Biochemical factors: catecholamine hypothesis: mainly refers to the occurrence of depression may be related to the brain synaptic gap neurotransmitter 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) and norepinephrine (NE) concentration decline; due to the use of many antidepressants, such as selective 5-hydroxytryptamine reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) or selective 5-hydroxytryptamine and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRI) and so on. Although the concentration of these neurotransmitters in the synaptic gap of the brain rises quickly, the antidepressant effect generally takes about 2 weeks to take effect, thus the hypothesis of increased sensitivity of 5-HT and NE receptors (hypersensitivity); and
(3) Psycho-social factors: the sudden occurrence of a variety of major life events, or the long-term persistence will cause a strong or (and) lasting unpleasant emotional experience, leading to depression.
When suffering from depression, patients are greatly affected in too many aspects of life, but knowing the several factors that can trigger the occurrence of depression, we should pay more attention to these aspects in their own lives. It is believed that people will live well without depression in their lives, so they should try to avoid these factors.
